Sharing of personal data

We may share your personal data with third parties, but only to the extent necessary to deliver our products to you, to manage our business operations, bookkeeping, and administration, when you have given consent, or when legally required.

For this, we distinguish between:

These are parties that process personal data solely on behalf of SERATA and according to our instructions. They are not allowed to use the data for their own purposes. Examples of such processors are:

Third parties who also process personal data for their own purposes

Some partners process personal data independently and may also use it for their own purposes, such as analytics, marketing, and social media. We only work with parties that have taken appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data, for example through model contracts or other legal mechanisms for international data transfer. Examples of these third parties are:

  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager)
  • Meta / Facebook (Facebook Pixel, Ads)
  • Hotjar (website analytics)
  • Mailchimp, Flexmail (email marketing)

Purposes of processing by these third parties:

  • Analyzing and optimizing website usage
  • Showing personalized marketing and advertisements
  • Collecting statistics on the use of our website and email campaigns

International transfer

Some of these parties may be located outside the European Economic Area (EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein). If personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure this is done in accordance with the GDPR and other relevant regulations (for example via the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or model contracts approved by the European Commission).

Retention period of personal data

We never keep your personal data longer than necessary to optimally deliver our products, as long as it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations or as long as you have given your consent for this:

  • Data needed to comply with our accounting obligations is kept for 7 years.
  • Data needed to fulfill our obligations regarding your orders and the legal warranty is kept for 2 years.
  • Data you provided when subscribing to our newsletter or when you gave consent to receive marketing communications is retained until you withdraw your consent.

Once the information is no longer necessary or you have withdrawn your consent, we will securely delete it.

Personal data security

We take all reasonable technical and organizational measures necessary to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. For example, we use encryption technologies and limit access to your data to authorized personnel.

Your rights regarding the collected personal data

You have the right to access the personal data we have collected about you. You also have the right at any time to data portability, to correct, update, restrict, or delete your data.
